Most private anesthesia groups have contracts with hospitals, ASCs and other organizations for the services they provide. What many groups may not realize is that contracts vary considerably and should be negotiated to ensure that practice needs are addressed and the services that are contracted are fair and reasonable. It is not uncommon for groups to be providing additional services that are uncompensated and unreasonable. Some do because “they always have”, or the contract is on the hospital’s template and the group has never seen anything different. PMG has broad experience with multiple groups, facilities and hospital systems. We manage the contracting process with our clients and look to ensure that the group is represented fairly in the relationship, that the services provided are appropriately compensated within traditional third party reimbursement and if not, negotiated directly with the facility.
